The Village Code/Ordinance book, Tax Rolls
and Assessment Rolls are maintained in the office of the
Clerk-Treasurer. This information is available for public
inspection during the regular office hours. The
Clerk-Treasurers office maintains all of the
financial/accounting records for the Village, processes payroll
for Village employees, prints property tax bills and water/sewer
rent bills, in addition to various other functions. This office
is the center for any information that a resident may need.
Tax Collection and Water/Sewer Billing :
The Villages fiscal year runs from June 1
through May 31. Tax bills are mailed out on June 1 and are
payable through June 30 without penalty. On July 1 a 5% penalty
is assessed; then 1% per month thereafter. If taxes are not paid
by October 31, they are forwarded to Albany County for
collection.
Water/Sewer billing is mailed out twice a
year; on March 7 and September 7, covering the previous six
months. Codes 100 and 101 designate water usage while 200 and
201 designate sewer usage. A 5% penalty is assessed after the
first 30 days and then 1% per month thereafter. If the March
bill is not paid by May 15, this amount is re-levied on the June
1 property tax.
Tax Exemptions:
Senior Citizen: property owner/resident
must be at least 65 years of age and meet financial
requirements. Specifics and applications are available at the
Town of Coeymans Assessor's Office located at 18 Russell Avenue.
Veteran property owner/resident are
eligible if they were enlisted in the service, active or
inactive. Proof is required. Specifics and applications

Notary Public services are available at the
Office of the Clerk/Treasurer during regular office hours.
